1 cup cooking oil
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 cups smooth flour
2 eggs, scrambled
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups fresh apples, chopped


1. Turn the oven to 300 ° F.

2. Mix oil, sugar, well-beaten eggs and vanilla. Measure and sift the flour, salt and baking soda – then add to the first mixture.

3. Stir in apple and walnuts and mix well. (The dough will be very hard.)

4. Pour into a long pan (about 13 x 9). Bake for 1 hour.

1/2 cup margarine
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/4 cup evaporated milk


1. Put margarine and sugar in a steam boiler and let them melt.

2. Add milk and bring to a complete boil.
