How to develop a cohesive, feasible annual plan

When it comes to approaching the new year, there are some common pitfalls that ministry leaders fall into. One is that they do not plan at all, and the other is that they set monumental goals without creating a functional plan that has practical value.

On the one hand, we know that God is not bound by our plans. We serve a sovereign God who moves as He wills and sometimes completely ruins our plans! But we also know that Christ called us to calculate the price (Luke 14:28) and occupy until He comes (Luke 19:13). Occupying it speaks of settling where God has placed us and doing something for His glory.

If we fail to plan, we end up busy without real momentum or achievement. Spending time in December to draft an annual plan for next year, however, we can step back, look at the bigger picture, and carefully assess how much of our time is allocated to our assigned mission and goals.

What does that practically mean? And how is it done?

In this new episode of the Spiritual Leadership podcast, I share five practical steps to creating a cohesive, annual plan. These steps integrate your personal and family life with your service planning. I pray that they are a blessing to you.
