These instructions are given to worship leaders as they prepare intercession prayers for weekly worship. Inquiries prepared by several leaders in ELCA reflect current world and national developments. We invite you to adapt and add other concerns to your local context, including being informed about events and concerns in your synod.

Mighty Jesus, the living Word, soothe the bodies, souls and minds of the victims sexual violence / domestic violence / ______ . Bring them peace, hope, comfort and strength. Bring the abusers to justice and prevent them from inflicting further harm. Stir the heart of your church gathered here and around the world to appreciate justice and healing over silence and shame. Show us the way to your righteousness, guided by the voices of those who suffer. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer for the Feast of Luke, Evangelist (ELW, p. 58)
Almighty God, you have inspired your servant Luke to reveal in his gospel the love and healing power of your Son. Give your church the same love and power to heal and proclaim your salvation among the nations in the glory of your name, through Jesus Christ, your Son, our healer, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
