Today’s Bible:

Luke 5: 17-26

Jesus heals a paralyzed man

17 One day when Jesus was teaching, the Pharisees and legal experts were sitting nearby. They came from every village in Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. Now the Lord’s power was with Jesus to heal. 18 Some people brought a man who was paralyzed, who was lying on the bed. They wanted to take him away and put him in front of Jesus, 19 but they could not reach him because of the crowd. So they took him to the roof and lowered him — the crib and all that — through the tiles into the crowded room in front of Jesus. 20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said: “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”

21 Legal scholars and Pharisees began to mutter to each other, “Who is this that offends God? Only God can forgive sins! ”

22 Jesus recognized what they were talking about and replied: “Why are you filling your mind with these questions? 23 Which is easier – to say: ‘Your sins are forgiven’ or to say: ‘Get up and walk’? 24 But so you will know that it is Human[a] He has authority on earth to forgive sins. ”- Jesus now addressed the paralyzed man,“ I tell you, get up, take your crib and go home. ” 25 Immediately the man stood before them, took his crib, and went home praising God.

26 All the people were amazed. Filled with awe, they glorified God by saying, “Today we have seen unimaginable things.”
